Dear all,

I need help to translate "Ikatan Dinas", and "Program magang" is that "Official
bond" and "Internship Program"? maybe you have another familiar word to put in
on the application letter.

and how to call the "Magang" participant or "Ikatan Dinas" participant?

Many company have their own term for 'magang'. Company A called Internship Program, while company B called Apprenticeship Program.

Apprentice itself defined as "a person who is learning a trade from a skilled employer, having agreed to work for a fixed period at low wages". (this is from google which reflect the actual condition, but it applies on many area not just trading. )

Wikipedia describe internship as a system of on-the-job training for white-collar jobs, similar to an apprenticeship. Interns are usually college or university students, but they can also be high school students or post graduate adults seeking skills for a new career.

Both are correct, although some company may called "On Job Training" also. :)

"Management Trainee Program" is more less same in reality.

I don't know about 'ikatan dinas'. Never heard the translation.

But, yes... it's applied on non-goverment environtment as well. Usually, it's part of education Company-Sponsored Program. Employees shall give their service in the company for certain period after finishing the education.

I don't know what is the correct term for that kind of situation.

Bagaimana cara mengungkapkan dalam bahasa Inggris jika pulsa telepon kita habis?

Pertanyaan simpel ya? Saya yakin ada diantara kita yang kepepet harus ngomong begini sama temen atau keluarga, entah langsung ato via telpon, supaya kita tidak dianggap tidak sopan karena mematikan telpon tiba2. Akan jadi susah kalo harus diomongin dengan bahasa Inggris. Mungkin kita harus ngomong pada atasan yang kebetulan bule. Jadi gimana caranya ya?

Ini beberapa ungkapan yang biasa diucapkan:
"I am out of my phone's credit."
"I'm running out of minutes."
"I am running out of mobile credit."
"My credit balance is running out."
"I do not have any credit for my phone, I couldn't call or texting
you, please call back."

Jika ingin mengisi pulsa:
"I'd like to add minutes to my cellphone."
"I would like to top up my mobile phone with (a/two/etc) .....
(US/Pound/etc) vouchers."
Exp:I would like to top up my mobile phone with two 50 pound vouchers.

Ternyata Bhs Indonesia jauh lbh simple dibanding Bhs Inggris. Masak sih? Liat aja contoh di bawah ini. :)

Di tempat saya bekerja, cuti tahunan berarti Annual Leave. Jika ingin minta ijin cuti tinggal bilang, "Bos, I want to take my annual leave from (sebutkan dari tanggal berapa) until (sampe tanggal berapa)". Ato, "Bos, I want to take a vacation for (sebutkan berapa hari) and back to work on (sebutkan tanggal kembali kerja)".

Menyebutkan alasan.
Jika untuk keperluan keluarga, tinggal tambahkan saja alasannya. "Bos, I want a leave for few days because my sister got married, is it OK with you?". Contoh lain, "Bos, I have to go for few days since my wife in hospital and will deliver our baby". Bisa juga, "Is it OK with you if I'm not coming today? I'm not feeling very well today".
Bisa juga, "Bos, I want to take leave for 2 or 3 days for family matter/family business".

Cuti bersama
Cuti bersama bisa diterjemahkan sebagai, "Public leave". Walaupun ada juga yang menterjemahkan sebagai "Forced Leave" karena cuti bersama berarti anda dipaksa cuti. Ada juga yang menterjemahkan Collective Leave. Walaupun begitu, ada juga yang menterjemahkan "Mass Leave". Eh, tau ga? "Mass Leave" adalah istilah dalam dunia HR di India untuk mendeskripsikan cuti secara besar2an oleh karyawan untuk menunjukkan protes !

What is Junglish? Jungle English.. like one mentioned below: It's pronounce and mix with local style such as Javanese, Jakarta, and many more. It's funny and still within the context. Enjoy !!

Jakartenglish.. Jakarte English is marked by the 'sih', 'deh', 'dong','nih', etc

- Give me more dong..
- How sih? Little little angry..

Surobenglish is marked by 'tah' and the famous word is 'diancuk'
-Do you feel sick, tah ?
-Diancuk... he took my money !

Other exclamation words of Java:'wo','wah','wé_','jian',and 'jé_'
- Wé_ lha this book is mine jé...!
- Wo_, only like that tho!
- Wah, expensive, tho?
- Jian, Paijem is so beautiful tenan.

Sundanglish is also available such as 'atuh', 'euy', 'mah'
- Well, if that kind, it pretty so-so atuh
- It can't be that way euy..

There are also abundant 'sound effect' in Javanesse language.

Propinsi diterjemahkan Province yang terdiri dari Kabupaten (Regency) dan Kota (City). Sepertinya ini umum2 saja dalam struktur daerah di negara2 lain.

Coba kalo Kecamatan dan kelurahan/desa. Kecamatan diterjemahkan sub-district. Loh, districtnya mana? Ya, kabupaten ato kota.. Sedangkan Kelurahan yang dipimpin lurah diterjemahkan Village. Desa? Village juga. Bedanya, lurah tidak dipilih oleh warga kelurahan, tapi ditunjuk oleh pemerintah kota. Sedangkan Kepala desa dipilih oleh warga desa.

Subdistrict (Headed by Camat) ... I've told you, there's no such thing on UK. Keep it that way.

Gara-gara Nila setitik rusak susu sebelanga artinya hanya karena kesalahan kecil yang nampak tiada artinya seluruh persoalan menjadi kacau dan berantakan. Bisa juga, karena sesuatu yang remeh/kecil malah menimbulkan dampak yang besar.

Ini peribahasa dalam bahasa Indonesia. Apakah ada padanan peribahasanya dalam bahasa Inggris?

Memang susah cari terjemahan yang persis. Namun begitu, ada proverb 'one bad apple spoils the barrel' ato 'One rotten apple spoils the whole barrel'.
Artinya:

1. Bisa dipahami seperti makna explisitnya. Kalo ada satu apel yang busuk (rotten) memang bisa merusak/mengkontaminasi apel2 lainnya jika bercampur. Makanya cepat2 dipisahkan.
2. Makna implisitnya relevan dengan kasus KPK vs Polri saat ini. Hanya gara2 beberapa personel yang berbuat tidak baik, yang dicap jelek adalah institusinya dan semua personel di dalamnya.
